In America, there are tens of thousands of products that contain high fructose in many foods, drinks, syrups, and more. This is because of the increased number of manufacturers that use artificial sugars to continue to produce products. As a result, the rate of diabetes in America has significantly increased in recent decades, alarming many health professionals. Many energy drinks like Monsters and Red Bull contain an alarming amount of sugar, prompting doctors to be against these drinks. Monsters are an extremely popular energy drink, if not the most popular and most consumed in America. A good reason for this is not just for the aesthetic of the cans that are pleasing to the eye, but because of their sweetness.
Monsters are no doubt, the most unhealthy energy drink and possibly the most unhealthy drink in general. They not only have 300mg of caffeine per can but contain 27g of sugar per serving, in which there are 2 servings per can. This adds up to 54g of sugar in just a single can, not including the added vitamins and artificial sugars, like high fructose corn syrup.
This is extremely detrimental to your health as the recommended daily dose of sugar is 37.5 grams for the average male and 25 grams for the average female. This is significantly less than what Monster Energy provides, which does not take the other sources of sugar that we consume throughout our day-to-day lives, This is important because we want to take care of our health and not cause any health risks, like diabetes or obesity.
